The possibility of changing the BRICS name has been addressed by the Kremlin, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarifying that there are currently no plans for a rebranding. Speaking on Monday, Peskov explained that any decision regarding a name change would need unanimous agreement from all member nations. However, no such proposals have been put forward at this time, and the consensus appears to be in favor of keeping the current name.
Peskov emphasized the growing appeal of BRICS, attributing its attractiveness to the group’s principles of mutual respect and equal cooperation. He highlighted that many nations today reject international relations dominated by the influence of a single country, favoring instead the collaborative framework that BRICS offers.
