The 7th BRICS International Festival of Theatre Schools will be held in Moscow from June 1 to 8, 2024. The festival will kick off on June 1 at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre, where representatives from each BRICS country will present their unique theatrical productions over the course of six days.
Since its inception in 2017, the Institute of Theatre Arts named after People’s Artist of the USSR Joseph Kobzon has organized and hosted this festival as a form of public diplomacy aimed at fostering friendly relations among young theatre students. Recognized globally as an innovative platform, the festival facilitates intercultural exchange in dramatic arts, bringing together students and professionals from diverse backgrounds to learn and share their skills.
This year, the festival will feature a performance of Alexander Pushkin’s classic, The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish. Delegations have spent a year preparing for this event, culminating in a grand final performance titled “Let’s Play Together!” which will serve as the festival’s closing act on June 8.
The Roscongress Foundation is responsible for managing the events associated with Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024, ensuring that the festival continues to promote cultural exchange and collaboration among BRICS nations.
