Venezuela is positioning itself to engage with BRICS+ nations by offering a range of investment opportunities and projects in the oil sector, as announced by President Nicolás Maduro during his arrival at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. He highlighted that Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela’s Vice President and Oil Minister, is presenting a comprehensive package aimed at attracting interest from the member countries.
Maduro remarked that BRICS has emerged as a pivotal center in the evolving multipolar world and geopolitics, underlining the significance of collaboration among member states. He expressed his anticipation of discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders at the summit, emphasizing the potential for strengthened ties within the bloc.
The 16th BRICS summit, taking place from October 22 to 24, 2024, is noted to be the largest foreign policy event in Russia this year, with 32 countries confirmed to participate. Maduro’s outreach to BRICS+ countries reflects Venezuela’s strategic intention to leverage its oil resources and foster international partnerships in the energy sector.
