On the opening day of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin will engage in a series of bilateral meetings with key leaders. The meetings, scheduled for Tuesday, include discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. These meetings aim to strengthen diplomatic ties and cooperation across various sectors.
Before these talks, Putin is expected to meet with Dilma Rousseff, President of the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB), marking the first item on his agenda. The Russian leader has emphasized the NDB’s critical role in enhancing financial collaboration within the BRICS framework, aiming to support development projects and infrastructure investments across member states.
In keeping with the summit’s spirit of camaraderie, an informal dinner will be hosted in the evening for attending dignitaries. The summit not only serves as a platform for addressing pressing global issues but also aims to reinforce partnerships among member countries as the bloc continues to grow and expand its influence on the world stage.
